The Pacific Street Car Association is the sanctioning body for some of the best V-8 drag racing events on the West Coast. The emphasis is on the nine heads-up drag racing classes, where power adders are the name of the game. Think about street cars with nitrous, twin turbochargers, giant intercoolers, and electronic fuel injection. Some of these vehicles run at over 200 mph, with elapsed times in the 6-second range! Everything from tube chassis to street tires is covered in the heads-up categories, and they are all door slammers. There are also 3 bracket classes and a tough 10.60 index class.
Some PSCA events also feature the Top Eliminator West class. This is heads-up racing on a pro light, no cubic inch limit, blown or nitrous engines allowed, any style of chassis or body, running against a 6.30 index.
The PSCA is scheduled to hold five events at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2006.
